"The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire." Climbing roofs is cool. Muscle alone don't always cut it. Technique alone don't always cut it. It's a combination of technique and strength that often times gets the job done. Unless the roof is right off the deck, there is usually climbing to get up to the roof, so you need to cruise up to the roof to save strength. Roofs often call for a "go for it" attitude. Some climbers like roofs because they are airy, exposed, and exciting. Some climbers hate roofs because they are intimidating, airy, and strenuous. Love em' or hate em', roofs are a part of climbing. Although not know for it's roof climbs, Joshua Tree does have some excellent roof climbs. Here is a list of a bunch of them. Psyche up , suck it up, and bust over that roof! (Note;...some of the "roof" climbs go over some small roofs......but a roof is a roof is a roof is a roof...)
